Fundamental knowledge about the dynamics of the outer deltas, focussing on the following questions:
1.what is the role of outer deltas in the sand balance of the coastal zone;
2.what is the morphodynamic relationship between the outer delta and the inner basin;
3.how to model and understand the cyclic channel-shoal behaviour and related sediment bypassingover the outer delta.
