The Asynchronous Transfer Mode Passive Optical Networks (ATM-PON) is the
target technology for Broadband networks by handling a wide variety of
traffic patterns.
ATM-PON networks are aimed at efficiently sharing network resources
among a variety of services, including transmission of voice calls,
various kinds of data and video.
The following items will be covered:
- The interconnection between the broadband Access Network (AN) and Switch
Network (SN) because it is a field of major activity in
telecommunication technology.
- The control of ATM network traffic by using parameters related to
Traffic Management and Quality of Service.
