• The following book is used:
  
  Finite Volume Methods for Hyperbolic Problems (errata)
  R.J. Leveque
  Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2002
• CLAWPACK is the software package that can be used during the course. All examples from the book can be repeated by this software.

• Assessment

  The exercises 2.4, 2.7, 3.2, 4.3, and bonus exercises 6.2, 6.7 should be worked out, strict deadline 28-3-2012 (Grade: G_1). The exercise should be handed in individually.
  
  In the middle of April a take home exam including practical exercises is given. This exam can be done by groups of two students. The report of this exam should be returned to us before 15-6-2012 (Grade: G_2).
  
  Thereafter an appointment can be made for an oral examination over chapter 18, 19, and 20 (Grade: G_3).
  
  The final grade is computed by the formula: (G_1 + 2 G_2 + G_3)/4.
