annote = {The calibration of shallow water models is very important for the accuracy of these models. This is due to the fact that on one hand some parameters in the model can not be measured with the desired accuracy directly and on the other hand a large number of accurate measurements of other variables is available. In order to speed up the very time consuming calibration process and to enlarge the range of possibilities a parameter estimation package was developed. Experiments showed that a number of extensions to the original program were needed to obtain a good calibration result and use this tool efficiently.}
